This position begins as part-time (1-20 clients), with the potential for the Pet Care Provider to transition to full-time (20-35 clients).

Our mission is to ensure ultimate comfort and peace of mind for pets and their owners. As an Independent Pet Sitting Contractor, you’re responsible for the mental and physical well-being of the pets in your care. You set your own schedule, prices, and services while benefiting from Fur Babies Pet Sitting’s reputation, client base, marketing, business development, and insurance coverage. Comprehensive pet care insurance protects both contractors and clients. FBPS enhances contractors’ visibility through a professional website and social media branding, but personal efforts to promote services amplify success. Tools like Precise Pet Care simplify scheduling, client communication, and reporting. We’re here to support local pet care professionals while creating a strong, personalized support system for pets and families in our community. FBPS provides leads to contractors, but true long-term success comes from harnessing those leads and completing the jobs. FBPS fosters a collaborative environment where contractors can share advice, connect, and grow together.

Contractors are expected to build a reputation for reliability and quality care by:

  • Offering exceptional service and fostering positive client relationships.

  • Maintaining professionalism and dependability in every interaction.

  • Generating glowing reviews and referrals from satisfied clients.

While FBPS supports contractors with resources, contractors are responsible for managing their business, including:

  • Financial Tracking: Keep records of earnings and expenses for tax purposes.

  • Revenue Reporting: Submit monthly revenue reports by the 7th (if not using the provided software). If you are using the company software, it is done automatically.

  • Schedule Management: Actively secure bookings to maintain a steady workflow.

FBPS offers a range of learning experiences to ensure contractors feel confident and prepared:

  • Zoom Meetings: Covering essential topics like pet care best practices and client communication.

  • In-Person Training: Hands-on sessions tailored to skill-building.

  • Tag-Along Sessions: Shadow seasoned contractors to gain practical insights.

What we’re looking For:

1. Passion for Pets: Previous experience in pet sitting or animal care.

2. Certifications Required: Pet CPR, Pet First Aid, and Pet Sitter Certifications must be completed before rendering services (links to certification courses provided after hire—don’t worry if you’re not certified yet!).

3. Professionalism: A reliable phone, internet, and transportation. A computer is a plus!

4. Preparedness: Must supply and maintain a personal pet first aid kit.

5. Strength & Safety: Able to lift 60 lbs and handle emergencies with a cool head.

6. Expertise: Understanding of animal behavior and restraint techniques.

7. Motivated: Are you a self starter?

8. Requirements: 18 years of age or older, High School Diploma/GED, Valid Driver's License & Ongoing ACTIVE car insurance proof required.

Tiered Commission Structure

The commission structure is designed to reward growth and performance, allowing contractors to earn more as their revenue increases. Every 30 days, the revenue is calculated and the Provider is assigned a Tier for the next 30 days.

Initial 3-Month Exemption

  • During the first three months, contractors receive 80% commission on all FBPS bookings.

  • After this period, the tiered commission structure applies indefinitely.

Revenue Tiers

Tier One: Revenue ≤ $400

  • Commission: 70% contractor / 30% FBPS.

  • Example:

  • January Revenue: $221.46

  • February Commission: 70% contractor, 30% FBPS.

Tier Two: Revenue > $400 and < $2,000

  • Commission: 80% contractor / 20% FBPS.

  • Example:

  • March Revenue: $550.63

  • April Commission: 80% contractor, 20% FBPS.

Tier Three: Revenue > $2,000 and < $4,000

  • Commission: 85% contractor / 15% FBPS.

  • Example:

  • June Revenue: $3,240

  • July Commission: 85% contractor, 15% FBPS.

Tier Four: Revenue ≥ $4,000

  • Commission: 90% contractor / 10% FBPS.

  • Example:

  • November Revenue: $4,010

  • December Commission: 90% contractor, 10% FBPS.

Additional Rewards

FBPS recognizes and rewards contractors who consistently achieve strong performance:

  • Tier Two (3 Consecutive Months): Mystery gift + gift card.

  • Tier Three (3 Consecutive Months): Mystery gift + gift card + $30 bonus.

  • Tier Four (3 Consecutive Months): Mystery gift + gift card + $60 bonus.

Key Notes on Revenue and Reporting

  • Revenue Definition: The total amount collected from clients before commissions are applied.

  • Reporting: Monthly reports are due by the 7th of each month, unless using automated software provided by FBPS.

  • Outside Jobs: FBPS does not collect commission on jobs sourced independently (e.g., Rover). These are not considered FBPS bookings.

  • Tips and Gifts: Contractors keep 100% of all tips and gifts, free of commissions.
