We’re currently developing a Comprehensive Pet Care Provider Certification Course designed to educate and certify pet sitters, dog walkers, and animal caregivers in practical, species-specific health and emergency care. The course includes modules on first aid, CPR, wound care, allergic reactions, shock, bleeding, lameness, common toxins, professional conduct, species-specific care protocols (dogs, cats, farm animals, and exotics) and more. To ensure the course meets high professional standards and reflects best practices in animal health, I am reaching out to veterinary professionals to invite collaboration. Calling all Veterinarians, Veterinarian Technicians, Veterinary Receptionists, Professional Groomers, Chinese Medicine Veterinarians and others to help a small business grow!
Option 1: Guest Instructor
You would create a short, focused lesson plan (with or without a recorded video or slideshow) on a topic within your area of expertise. Your contribution would be fully credited in the course and marketed as part of the instructional team. This is a great way to share your professional insight with an audience of future pet care providers who deeply value veterinary-informed guidance. Example topics might include: “When to Refer: Warning Signs Pet Sitters Should Never Ignore”, “Basic Triage for Pet Professionals”, “Safe Medication Practices in Non-Clinical Settings”, “Behavior Clues That Indicate Medical Concern”
…or any other topic you’re passionate about that applies to pet care in the field.
Your name, credentials, and business (if applicable) would be listed as an official guest instructor. You’ll also have the option to promote your practice or link to your services or social channels in your instructor bio.
Option 2: Peer Reviewer
You would receive complimentary access to the full certification course in exchange for reviewing the material for clinical accuracy, appropriateness, and completeness.
We are particularly interested in having veterinary professionals review modules related to: First aid protocols (bleeding, shock, allergic reactions, CPR, etc.), emergency vs. non-emergency judgment calls, animal-specific signs of pain, injury, or toxicity, safe practices for handling animals in distress.
Option 3: Both!
Your professional feedback would help ensure that this course teaches sitters how to act appropriately within their role—not to replace veterinary care, but to support it responsibly and reduce preventable harm. Our job is to get them to the vet safely!
Whether you choose to peer review, contribute a lesson, or just learn more before deciding, I’d love to send over a course outline and sample module. Your time and expertise would make a lasting difference in how animals are cared for in their homes and communities. Please let me know if you're interested—I’d be grateful to collaborate and support your voice in this field.
